Elimination:

Quote :
Turner:
Breaking Benjamin-The Dark of You

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrkMczxtmS4
A smart man sends me a Breaking Benjamin song. A smarter man sends me a Breaking Benjamin song from Phobia Laughing This is cute but I can think of so many better songs that they have lol. Even from this album, Red Cold River would have been better. I like this though, their new album is still pretty good.

Taylor:
Kesha-Praying

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-Dur3uXXCQ
Didn't someone send this in the last Idol Chair games I hosted? Seems like I've listened to it and judged it before haha. Anyway, powerful song, I really think this is one of my favorite Kesha songs ever. So good.

Decision:
Alright well, both songs were good, but one of them was slightly better and I hope I am making the right decision here, so don't let me down. The person staying in the competition is:

Spoiler:

Congrats!

That means,
Spoiler:

you're eliminated. Thank you so much for playing Sad

lol this is gonna get confusing.

Guys, if you're in the bottom 2 please don't send your song for next theme before I post the elimination. If you're in the bottom 2, you're sending a survival song to ME first. Then I post elimination. If you survive elimination, you're sending your song for the next theme to Cherry.

So, Taylor, please let us know if the song you sent to Cherry is for Theme 3 please, thanks!!

PostSubject: Re: Kyogre's Musical Chairs 2: Game Thread   Fri Apr 27, 2018 9:04 am

Posting this now cuz otherwise I won't be able to until late tonight lulz.

1.David Bowie-Cat People
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWX_MFNOL_Y
Inglourious Basterds. Is. My. Favorite. Tarantino. Movie. Ever. So, you win. OMFG, the scene where this song plays is one of my all time favorite movie scenes ever. Shosanna <333 I know I've seen this movie like a million times, but it's time for another rewatch lololol. Anyway, this is a good Bowie song too! So haunting at the beginning, but then BAM. Love it.

2.Urge Overkill - Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAHA4Jh5jkw
Yasss, I love this song! This is definitely what I had in mind with this theme, songs from Tarantino movies that are definitely associated with the movie and with particular scenes of his movies. I know this is probably heresy to say, but I don't love Pulp Fiction. I don't hate it, it's just not my favorite movie of his, but I love the scene where this song plays!

3.Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich - Hold tight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTyqwwAitQI
Have you seen the movie, person who sent this? Because omg the scene where they use this song, wtfffffff. It's so like messed up but the contrast between the cutesy song and then, limbs and heads flying everywhere Laughing This movie is so underrated. I love the song, it's so fun but now I can't not think about that scene so it will be associated with it haha.

4.Tomoyasu Hotei - Battle Without Honor or Humanity
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fQuEqwQ2I4
One word: Iconic. I remember when I first watched Kill Bill volume 1 and how COOL I thought O-Ren Ishii was and how I wanted to be like her, cute little shoes that dont really fit me and all. I am a little sad there were no more Kill Bill songs sent (The Lonely Shepherd, Woo Hoo, Urami Bushi, Malaguena Salerosa!!!!, Goodnight Moon, any of the Morricone songs would have been ranked high too) but at least I got this one which is awesome!!

5.The Coasters-Down in Mexico
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c16rihlXHFA
I don't know why Tarantino himself thinks this is his least favorite movie. I love it. So, whatever. I also love the soundtrack (not gonna lie, pretty LIVID no one sent Chick Habit, that would have been automatic top place), and this is one of the good songs! Pretty catchy!

6.Bobby Womack-Across 110th Street
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gs1_ndm3r4
Another Jackie Brown song. I really need to rewatch this movie. Adding it to my queue to watch this weekend lol. Really love Tarantino opening credits for his movies, he picks some really cool songs. This is a pretty cool song. Fits with the scene so well.

The Bottom Two:
Quote :
The Delfonics- Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsG8Xmxkgq4
I think I've only watched Jackie Brown once. The one time I did, I remember thinking it was just ok, and wasn't that interested in watching it again, but probably should now that I am much older lol. Don't remember the scene this song played in, so that's another reason to rewatch. I like this. It's not terrible, but if I had to divide songs in two groups, the ones I was expecting and hoping to see, and the other ones, this song would be in the second group. But again, not a bad song!!

Kim Wilde-Kids in America
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_GH6M7cUq4
What movie was this song on? I can't remember. Anyway, probably heard this song once or twice before. This song is pretty much just that one line, WE'RE THE KIDS IN AMERICA WOO OO lol. It's a cute song, but not one I particularly care to listen to again anytime soon.

Bottom two, feel free to send me your battle round songs. I will not post the next theme until Cherry posts elimination. Thanks!

While we're waiting for the bottom two to send their elimination songs, Henry asked me to post the next theme.

Theme Four: Songs with Modes of Transportation in title/lyrics
(like car, bus, train, plane, boat etc etc)

I love that Delfonics song Dana. I would have picked that if I hadn't picked Bobby Womack. That opening is one of the better openings of a film. I love how well the visuals go along with the song so well.

BTW, I also wanted to say that Jackie Brown is my favorite Tarantino movie. I know a lot of people were disappointed with it, because it was so different from Pulp Fiction. It is slower and less violent than PF and their is a sweetness to it that I liked. I also thought the best dialogue came from this film. I know I am in the minority, but I usually am. Which is fine. Elimination:

Quote :
Dana:
Dusty Springfield-Son of a Preacher Man

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Au0OUrhn-x8
What a cute little song that I have not heard in a long time! Love her voice, love how the song makes me feel, it's a cute little song! Can't remember the scene that had this song though, have not seen this movie in a while.

Murr:
Soday Stereo-En La Ciudad de la Furia

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVEDgT_lG60
You find yourself a thesaurus, look for all synonyms for perfect, and that is what this song is. Enough said.

Decision:
Alright well, I wish I could say this was close. But it wasn't. But thanks to BOTH OF YOU for trying. Anyway, the person staying is...

Spoiler:

Congrats!

That means,
Spoiler:

you're eliminated. Thank you so much for playing Sad

Spoiler:

send your song to Cherry for theme #4. Kthx.

And in case y'all missed it, the theme this round is:

Modes of Transportation (car, bus, train, plane, boat, etc etc) in title or lyrics.

Smile

Thanks, Murr. Tarantino is my favorite director. I loved Jackie Brown, of course I was swept on the QT train after Pulp Fiction. Then they sort of got displaced by Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained, for me. But the music in JB is all so nice.
