Nice thread! I am growing more selective about shows every year. I have a list of so many I want to try, so I can't force myself to watch a whole series (sometimes even season) if I can tell early on that it doesn't interest me.

The most "popular" or critically acclaimed show I could never get past a couple episodes was Mad Men. I don't care how good people say it is - it bores me to tears. I feel similarly about The Sopranos also, but I think it's because I watched it way after television advanced past that style. Yes, it started it all, but I feel like it no longer holds up like The Wire does.

More recent ones: Mr Robot had an excellent pilot then each successive episode got worse. The first season was still worth watching, but the second is pure trash for me. I gave up half way through.

Marco Polo I lasted 2 episodes. All premise, no substance.

Sense8 I forced myself to finish one season, but to me is more style than substance.

Penny Dreadful I REALLY want to like, but it is a chore to get through. I think I've seen 2 season and will probably go back when I'm in the mood, but I will probably regret it.

Outcast was brutal and I wish I had never even tried.

The Man In The High Castle I got through one season, but huge YAWN.

Preacher....horrible.

Luther was highly recommended by a trusted source. Idris is awesome but one season was enough for me.

Oh and how could I forget TWD. I loved the pilot. Liked the first season. Tolerated the second. Tried VERY hard to watch beyond that, but stopped after 3 or so. It's very hard for me to say anything nice about it, so I'll just stop.

FTWD was a complete cocktease also. Made all the same mistakes as the original.

Watching Sense8 now. The first two episodes were alright, but this show is basically softcore porn, kinda awkward to try to binge watch during flights Laughing I hope it gets better, otherwise I will probably add it to the list of shows I lost interest in lol

I still watch The Walking Dead, but honestly the show just is the same story over and over again for the most part. There are good episodes, but it definitely is past it's heyday.

I tried to warn you. Smile

I was confused about this show from the start. From descriptions it sounded like it would be sorta like X-Men about a group of people with powers. Then I realized it was just about random people who can sense each other. I thought, what makes this an interesting show? The answer was: nothing.

Its peak was the pilot which is never a good sign. Everything beyond that was a bunch of soap opera scenarios interrupted by a character dying. Imagine this show without any of the main characters dying, there wouldn't be a show. Imagine the show without zombies attacking whenever it gets boring, it would be the worst show of all time. Main characters dying and zombies are just tricks to get you to watch a poorly written show.

i really liked sense 8, i thought season 1 was good and then season 2 came out and it was even better because all the set up about how the sense8 mythology works was already explained.

as for the walking dead, did they slow down with the deaths? i feel like the show would take risks with killing off big characters and smaller characters and it kept it interesting, whereas with the new season 2 big characters got knocked off episode 1, 2 small characters in the middle (spencer and olivia) and then sasha at the end, 5 people in 16 episodes? i remember the prison, with lori, t dog, the sickness taking people, karen

I gave up on Empire, I got too bored and prefer reality television because it is hard to keep my attention.

I've recently tuned out of Shameless although I tune in and out on Netflix much for the same reason I said above I can't stick with a series for too long.

The Following I gave up on as well like after the first season into the second.
I gave up Empire for the same reason and BB19.
